Ocean Asia Inc was created in 2005 as the result of a market need for a multi-tasking and international Asian-based marine operation, capable of offering its clients world-wide, the highest standards of service in the very competitive and specialized Asian-sourced marine market.
China is now offering many advantages for the construction of new vessels. High-quality materials, internationally known machinery & equipment and fine workmanship are all available and utilized. Price/quality ratios are excellent, but there is an underlying need for sound quality control.
This rapidly growing capability has created a need for the services offered by Ocean Asia Inc, with experienced personnel who are capable of offering professional advice to its clients on all aspects of marine applications, in order to develop and benefit from this rapidly growing side of the leisure industry.
With a vast wealth of experience in the marine industry, Edwin G Palfrey the founder and CEO of Ocean Asia Inc has over the past 35 years skippered motor and sailing yachts, managed yachts, built yachts and sold yachts throughout the World. In 1983 he was the first foreigner to sell yachts (the Celestial 48 Centre Cockpit ketch) built for export in China and since then has been responsible for building boats in Taiwan and China.
We build a wide variety of semi-customized pleasure craft from 9.0m to 27.0m. These include Trawler style motor yachts, Euro-style motor yachts, Express cruisers, Sailing yachts, Catamarans (power and sail), RIB's and inflatables. We also undertake new fully-customized vessels of any size.
Ocean Asia Inc are currently developing the brand new exciting TigerCat range of power and sail catamarans (45ft - 55ft - 65ft).
The first model is the Ocean Asia TigerCat 55 power cat. Designed for Ocean Asia Inc by UK naval architect Thanos Condylis MRINA, primarily for the expanding charter market, it is equally ideally suited for the owner/operators. Fitted with twin Yanmar V-drive diesel engines, top speed is 20+knots with cruising at 15 knots. For more speed, engine options include: Bigger units, alternative drive systems - Water Jets, Stern Drives, Sail Drives or Pod Drives. We can also offer a Hybrid power train as an option. A generator is standard, as is reverse-cycle air-conditioning throughout.
Available with a 3 or 4 cabin layout below decks, each cabin has it's own en-suite bathroom, large double bed with 15cm mattress, writing desk, clothes locker, drawers, DVD player LED TV. Overhead deck hatches are fitted with anti-mosquito screens and roller sun-blinds (as are all opening hatches and ports).
The vast main deck is split into the very spacious saloon area with a separate bar, formal dining area with seating for 8 persons, domestic sized open plan galley, fully equipped, with large double door S/S fridge-freezer, dish washer, cooker with oven, microwave oven, Corian worktops, double S/S sinks plenty of drawers and storage space. The galley offers direct serving access to the dining and saloon areas and is fitted with a wide-opening serving window onto the large aft cockpit informal dining area. The entertainment centre incorporates a DVD player, radio tuner, 40in LED TV which is concealed when lowered electrically into its cabinet.
The flybridge is shaded by the full-width FRP hardtop. Fitted with an 8 person FRP U-shaped settee with hi-lo table, a large wetbar, electric BBQ. A double seat at the helm station where the boat & engine controls and gauges are located, as are the state-of-the-art electronic navigational aids.
The foredeck is accessed via wide side decks running on both sides, from the cockpit to the forward section of the deck. Overlooking the bow, is a U-shaped settee with corner tables and glass holders, countersunk into the coachroof.
Ocean Asia Inc is looking for a Distributor and reputable dealers for this new model in certain countries.
